We all need a space in which we can relax. Yes, it is just a cliche — there is no denying it. But, relax from what? Well, one may think that we need to take some time away from something stressful like work, confrontation, argument and so forth. Whatever it is, when things are negative, it sounds intuitive that we have to take a rest from them. But, is it to be only negative things that we have to take a break from? I’d like to say “NO.” And here is why.

First and foremost, our emotions are in constant flux. Much of how we get stressed is not binary. On one end of the spectrum, we have extreme distress, but on the opposite of the scale, we’ve got eustress. However positively you perceive the stress, stress is stress. It stirs up some kind of emotion either subliminally or explicitly, resulting in you having to get back to where you regain your tranquil mind. Arguably, this inherent system which subconsciously strikes a balance between our rational self and emotional one governs our integrity. Assuming that is true, we need a break every once in a while. Either that or, we may want to have a break more intermittently like every hour.
